Ignite the viewer's gaze by applying a maximum chromatic intensity fluorescent orange

Extreme brightness and ultraviolet effects for professional finishes

A step forward in colour treatment for demanding creators looking to make a difference in their work. This opaque and fluorescent acrylic paint from Green Stuff World has been developed with selected pigments to ensure a vibrancy that completely surpasses conventional acrylic ranges. The fluorescent orange tone is perfect for recreating incandescent areas, volcanic fluids, sci-fi energy effects, or the most eye-catching and radical decorations on the body of a slot car that needs to stand out on the track during endurance competitions. When exposing the model to black or ultraviolet light, the formulation reacts immediately, glowing with its own light, adding spectacular technical value to your collection pieces in display cases or themed play areas.

Application versatility and technical behaviour in the workshop

The balanced consistency of this acrylic pigment ensures an extremely comfortable user experience on all types of plastic, resin, or metal surfaces that have been previously primed. If you work with a brush, you will discover excellent adhesion for creating extreme light highlights, small mechanical components, or high-visibility markings. For airbrush painting enthusiasts, the product flows smoothly after proper dilution, allowing for coverage of large sections of bodies or creating smooth transitions and gradients in terrains and dioramas without the risk of clogging the internal components of the tool. Its non-toxic composition allows for long painting sessions with complete peace of mind. It is worth noting that the packaging includes a practical dispenser that optimises consumption drop by drop, and it is essential to remove the internal protective seal that may be present in the bottle before proceeding with its first use.

Green Stuff World's Fluor Orange acrylic paint delivers exceptional opacity and brightness, reaching its maximum visual impact when applied over a solid white base coat. Specially formulated for high-end scale models, custom figures, and detailed diorama layouts, this fluorescent orange pigment glows intensely under ultraviolet and black light, providing hobbyists and collectors with endless creative techniques. Perfectly suited for both detailed brushwork and seamless airbrush gradients, this non-toxic 17 ml bottle ensures professional results on custom slot car projects and sci-fi miniatures.

Usage tips

Green Stuff World's fluorescent range requires dilution for use with an airbrush, especially if you are working with a 0.3 mm needle.

Although they come out of the bottle with an apparently fluid consistency, fluorescent paints have a very particular pigment load and a resin that tends to dry quickly at the needle tip (tip dry), which will cause constant clogging in a 0.3 mm nozzle if applied directly.

To achieve the best performance and avoid frustration with clogs, consider the following application guidelines:

1. The dilution ratio

The general rule for this range in airbrushing is to seek a texture similar to skimmed milk.

  • Recommended ratio: Approximately 1:1 or 60% paint and 40% thinner.

  • The ideal thinner: Use a specific acrylic thinner (Thinner). Avoid excessive dilution with water, as water breaks the cohesion of the fluorescent pigment with the resin, causing the paint to "spit," create maps, or lose light intensity.

  • The key trick: Always add 1 or 2 drops of flow improver (Flow Improver) directly into the cup. This will delay drying at the 0.3 mm needle and maintain a constant flow.

2. Surface preparation (Mandatory)

Fluorescent paints are inherently translucent; they do not have opacity by themselves.

  • Pure white base: You must apply them over a matte white base. If applied over grey, black, or bare plastic, the colour will completely dull and lose its fluorescent effect.

  • If you want to create transitions or dynamic lights, first do a pre-shading in black and white (light sketch) and ensure that the areas of maximum brightness have a flawless white before applying the fluorescent paint.

3. Pressure and application

  • Work at a medium-low pressure, between 1.5 and 1.8 bar (approximately 22-26 PSI).

  • Apply very thin and successive layers, allowing a few seconds to dry between passes. It is preferable to apply three thin transparent layers than to try to cover in one go, as over-triggering will cause the paint to accumulate moisture and slide off the white base.

Protection note: The fluorescent pigment is somewhat more fragile once dry. When you finish and the paint is well set, it is highly recommended to apply a layer of varnish (satin or gloss) to protect the finish and firmly set the colour intensity.
